June 2006 Featured Band: The Gathering
Our featured band this month is Dutch band, The Gathering. Their mesmerising synergy of atmospheric music and intriguing vocals make The Gathering one of the most addictive bands featured on this site to date.
The Gathering has produced many albums, each as spectacular as the next. Perhaps some of the most memorable are 'Mandylion', 'if_then_else', and their most recent release, 'Home'.
It would be an oversight for people interested in The Gathering to overlook the first two albums as Anneke van Giersbergen was not a member at that point, although it can be said that her vocal work eclipses that of Martine van Loon and even Marike Groot.
